“After my grandmother passed away two years ago, my grandfather has been living in their home independently. Thankfully, my uncle lives nearby and is able to see him on a daily basis, but my grandpa is still home alone the majority of the day. Prior to learning about Harbin Home Outfitters, my grandpa had a bad fall, and we knew something had to be done if he wanted to continue living on his own. I initially met James in Auburn, so I wasn't sure if they would be able to work with us with my grandpa living in Georgia. However, James did not hesitate in his response. He and his team were not only willing to travel to Georgia, but James was eager to get started almost immediately.
They installed handrails in his bathroom, around the toilet and shower; edges on the rugs to prevent tripping; corner protectors on all the sharp edges; Amazon Alexas to control the lights; and a bed transfer system mounted on the wall above his bed. Not only did they outfit his home, my Papa Harry couldn't believe James sat with him and listened to his stories about his time in the Navy and his expedition to Antarctica--they even looked through old photo albums together. While the outfitting is very important, I think the compassion and dedication to why this company was created is equally as important. James and his team truly hope to help families have peace and assurance that their elderly loved ones are in good care.
